Hair Donation Ottawa has evolved into a year-round fundraiser where you can make a difference in the lives of children and youth in our community living with cancer. Donate your hair or beard trimmings and raise funds for ground-breaking cancer research at CHEO, empower kids and youth going through cancer treatment and support environmental sustainability initiatives!

Our most important partner! This program would not be possible without the generous donations of hair and pledges from the amazing men, women and children of our community.
WHAT HAIR QUALIFIES?
ALL HAIR QUALIFIES
There is no minimum hair length needed to participate in this virtual fundraiser!
VIRGIN HAIR 5" OR MORE
All non processed (Color or Perm) hair donations measuring five inches or more can be directed towards creating wigs!
PROCESSED OR SHORT HAIR
Processed hair and hair shorter than five inches (no minimum length) is redirected to our partner Green Circle Salons for their environmental recycling initiatives.
ANYONE CAN REGISTER!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
REGISTER
Register on CHEO Foundation's online platform and commit to collecting pledges for donating your hair and/or shaving your head or beard.
RAISE
Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to donate to your fundraising page. With every dollar you fundraise, you are helping children and youth in our community who are facing cancer and other health challenges that result in hair loss.
CUT
Cut your hair or beard. Whether you DIY your cut or visit a salon, please ensure your hair has been thoroughly dried before proceeding with your haircut or shave.
All set? Mail or drop your hair off to one of our drop off locations!

TIP FOR SKINCARE
HAIR DONATION OTTAWA 2020 EVENT
As Hair Donation Ottawa marked its 10th anniversary in 2020, the challenges presented by COVID-19 forced the event to go virtual. Our community, as it always does, stepped up and a record amount of money was raised to fund childhood cancer research at CHEO! Donated hair will create wigs for kids experiencing hair loss and to environmental cleanup initiatives.
