If you are undergoing chemotherapy you may experience partial or full hair loss. Below are some things to consider when purchasing hair...
Hair loss, regardless of the cause can be a deeply emotional experience for a lot of people. Often times, it isn't until we are faced with hair loss that we realize just how much we can be affected by it.
In the market today there are beautiful wigs that are comfortable to wear and look great. With the right one, you can wear a wig with as much and sometimes more confidence than your natural bio hair.
A few keys to wearing wigs confidently are:
The density is natural for your ethnicity and features. A wig that has too much or too little hair density will often times look unrealistic.
The color is similar to your bio hair color or a color that compliments your skin tone.
The fit of a wig is important. The wig should not move around and should be placed correctly on your head. The hairline should sit at a comfortable 3-4 finger depth from your eyebrows.
Modifications may be necessary to make a wig your own. This could include thinning, trimming, adding layers or bangs.

Questions and Answers...
1. Are wigs hot?Wigs are not the same as wearing a hat. They are completely breathable and you will feel the wind going through your wig and hitting your scalp. If is is really hot out you could feel hot, however, people not wearing a wig would feel hot as well. Synthetic fibre traps a little more heat than human hair does. 2.Should I shave my head before a fitting?NO! A professional can fit you with a wig whether you have hair or not. Wigs have a lot of stretch and you can absolutely wear a wig with hair underneath. The sooner you come in for your fitting the better. That way you can be prepared and have time to order a piece if required. 3.How long will I have to wear the wig for? Typically, people will wear their wig during treatment and until their hair has reached their desired length underneath. You can expect to wear a wig from 6 months to 2 years approximately. 4.Can I sleep with my wig? You never want to sleep with a wig on. They are very delicate and sleeping with the wig will age it prematurely and may cause severe, irreversible matting especially on hand tied wigs. 5. How do I wash a wig? You will wash a wig about every 7-14 wears in the sink. Using the appropriate liquid products on your wig is essential to maintaining the life of your wig. For more details visit our wig care page.

All Natural Care Kit from Terapo Medik made in Quebec City, QC
THE WELL-BEING CARE KIT This care kit has been developped with the well-being in mind of those who have lost their hair following chemiotherapy or cranial radiotherapy treatment. Hydrate your scalp and nourish your follicles to promote healthy regrowth.
Chemotherapy or radiotherapy? Often required for the treatment of cancer, chemotherapy and cranial radiotherapy reduce or stop cell activity in the lumpy follicles and sebaceous glands. The hair falls a few days after the start of treatment. The scalp can become sensitive, irritated and dehydrated during treatments. When these are complete, the hair repels. The capillary cycle is restarting, but the hair still weakened is therefore more likely to be damaged by treatments such as colouring, and certain hair products. The importance of hair loss and how fast they grow back varies from person to person. Every treatment and every patient is different.
These Térapo Medik ® products are based on 100% natural active ingredients such as calendula oil, hydrolyzed corn starch and an amino acid complex. They have soothing activity that soothes the itch while stimulating the hair follicles and regulating the hair cycle.
DURING TREATMENT Alternate using Vitascalp Shampoos and Hydrascalp Térapo Medik ® . After each shampoo, apply the lotion Hydrascalp Terapo Médik MD . ONE MONTH AFTER YOUR TREATMENTS Alternate between the Vitascalp shampoo and lotion Vitascalp Terapo Médik MD to stimulate hair regrowth, and Hydrascalp shampoo and lotion Hydrascalp Terapo Médik MD to moisturize the scalp. $125.00 - Available in salon.
